Microsoft Graph Errors
Diagnose and resolve common Microsoft Graph permission and connectivity errors.
Microsoft Graph errors are the most common issue encountered during tenant connection and assessment runs. This guide covers the most frequent error codes and their resolutions.
Common Error Codes
| Error Code | Description | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Authorization_RequestDenied | Insufficient privileges to complete the operation | Ensure the connecting account has Global Administrator or Security Administrator role |
| InvalidAuthenticationToken | The access token has expired or is invalid | Reconnect your tenant from Settings → Integrations → Microsoft 365 |
| Request_ResourceNotFound | The requested resource does not exist | Verify your tenant ID is correct and the resource is available in your subscription |
| TooManyRequests | Microsoft Graph rate limit exceeded | TrustCyber automatically retries with backoff. If persistent, contact support. |
| ServiceUnavailable | Microsoft Graph service is temporarily unavailable | Wait 5–10 minutes and retry. Check status.microsoft.com for outages. |
Reconnecting Your Tenant
- Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Microsoft 365.
- Click 'Disconnect' to remove the existing connection.
- Click 'Connect Tenant' and follow the connection wizard.
- Ensure you sign in with a Global Administrator account.
- After reconnecting, trigger a new assessment to verify data collection.
NoteIf you continue to experience Microsoft Graph errors after reconnecting, check that TrustCyber is not blocked by a Conditional Access policy in your Azure AD tenant.
